Mourne Park has touched the lives of a great many people and been loved by generations. The owners of the land have always sought to save it from unnecessary development and continually do all in their power to keep this precious habitat intact and secure. Mourne Park is rare in having sustained a natural, truly wild state which has survived to this day.

The mature beech forest was planted by Kilmorey ancestors over 300 years ago and follows the line of the Whitewater River which is a spate river having its source high in the Mourne Mountains.

Mourne Country Park is unique in its untamed natural beauty and its tranquillity. It is home to a huge diversity of species and of flora and fauna. The team in Mourne Country Park work closely with club members and regular visitors to gather feedback on the natural habitat, wildlife sightings and risks to the environment.

Mourne Country Park is situated on the Newry Road on the outskirts of the town of Kilkeel in County Down, Northern Ireland. Its origins are part of the family seat of the Kilmorey Family, known as Mourne Park, and it is still owned and managed by members of that family today.
