Attention:

Members Update on Covid-19

The park continues to be open to members subject to compliance with the social distancing regulations currently in force.

We would ask members to be especially careful to maintain distance from other park users when entering/exiting the park and at pinch points such as the three bridges. We would also suggest bringing a disinfectant wipe or hand sanitiser to clean the lock before entry and after exit. Remember to wash your hands when you return home.

If you would like to be added to the waiting list for new memberships please email:

mournewoodlandrambling@gmail.com

New keys for the lock at the Newry Road entrance are now available for existing members.

Please check your email for details of how to collect your new key should you choose to use this entrance.

Ramblers must avoid any invasive species clearance working areas (indicated by hazard warning tape) and avoid the steep drops that laurel clearing has exposed at this time. Please avoid exposed banks and take extra care until the ground settles.

Please be extra careful over Christmas with high winds forecast. The Three Bridges are slippery and the invasive species clearance work continues.

Ramblers are reminded that they walk at their own risk.

Horse riding is strictly by invitation only and limited to the Designated Riding Zone (maps available on request for members)

If you are interested in regular walking/jogging in Mourne Park, Kilkeel, please email: mournewoodlandrambling@gmail.com

The breath-taking beauty of Mourne Country Park rivals any rambling club in Ireland and may be enjoyed every day by members of the Mourne Woodland Rambling Club. There are a wide range of paths: wooded, riverside and high on Knockchree Hill.

Membership numbers to the Rambling Club are necessarily restricted due to the company objective in ensuring that the natural environment does not suffer negative impact from too many visitors.

Important Note: Entry to Mourne Country Park without the necessary authorisation constitutes trespass.

Illegal camping, fishing or the use of any vehicle within Mourne Park without the express permission of Mourne Country Park Ltd. or their agents, will be prosecuted.

The Rambling Club Code of Conduct and the Rambling Club Members Map are available for download below. If you notice any behaviour within Mourne Park that concerns you, or that you feel may be in breech of the Code of Conduct please alert a Park Ranger on +447730401331

All Park Rangers carry an identy card that they will produce on request.

Dogs must be kept under control at all times.

We invite all our Rambling Club Members to contribute to our Facebook page and to share with us their experiences of rambling in Mourne Country Park.
